Quiet Escape

This painting came from a place where I felt isolated. I just wanted to get away from everything, clear my head, and find some kind of peace.

The bird sits on its own, quiet, still. It looks calm, but there’s something underneath it. It’s that feeling of being there, but not really wanting to be there. Wanting space, wanting silence.

I kept it in black and white on purpose. No colour to tell you what to feel. I wanted whoever looks at it to bring their own emotion into it, to see it how they see it. What feels peaceful to one person might feel lonely to another.

For me, it sits in that middle space. Not fully at peace, but searching for it.
