True reflections

This painting carries two meanings.

The first is internal. It comes from a place of feeling low, where you start to see yourself as empty, almost lifeless. Not surface level, something deeper. The skeleton represents that state, feeling stripped of everything. The red holds that weight, like blood, like something that stains and stays.

The second meaning comes from experience. This piece follows on from Trust Who, it sits in the aftermath of trusting someone and being let down. That moment where something shifts, and you don’t see things, or yourself, the same way anymore.

The light above is still there, but it doesn’t fully reach. It shows that even in that space, something remains, but it can feel distant.
